lighthouse tour

What to Expect: This tour is approximately 3 hours. The tour starts in the Portland Harbor. As you leisurely cruise through Portland Harbor you will get views of Commercial street and the Portland skyline. While in the harbor you will see lobster and fishing boats as well as beautiful boats from all over the world. We often come across a seal or two in the harbor. You then travel past Bug Light Park which is where Portland Breakwater Lighthouse is located. Fort preble is along the way out towards Fort Williams. Then you will cruise out to the historic Portland Headlight located in Cape Elizabeth. You will then view the Ram Island Ledges and lighthouse. As you head back toward Portland Harbor you will see Cushing Island which boasts beautiful cliffs. You then will stop for views of Fort Gorges. This is a former United States military fort built in the 1850s. You will definitely want to bring your camera to capture these views! We typically offer both a mid-morning and afternoon lighthouse tour option.

What to Bring: We always recommend layering clothing as the weather can change quickly in New England. A blanket can also be helpful for those that get cold easily. Feel free to bring snacks or some takeout as well as your preferred beverages. Check out our blog for boat snack ideas. Please avoid bringing glass on the boat. We will have a gallon of chilled water available for your convenience. We would love to provide restaurant recommendations for takeout if you have any questions. There are multiple great restaurants close to the marina or near the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock.

Pick up can be at the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock at 72 Commercial Street. We can also meet at South Port Marine at 14 Ocean St South Portland. There is free street parking in the vicinity but this can be crowded in the peak of the season.
