What to Expect: This half-day offshore fishing adventure is a great trip for everyone of all ages! You will spend a morning or afternoon ground fishing within a couple miles of shore. The cruise out is typically 45 minutes or less. We will be fishing for ground fish. The species we see most commonly include pollock, cunner, the occasional cod and more. We typically do not catch keeper size fish on the near shore ledges, but the pace is fast and consistent which makes for a fun day for everyone. This trip is a great way to see the many species of the Gulf of Maine. There is definitely a high probability of catching fish. This is a 4 hour trip that can accommodate 4 people fishing at a time with a max of 6 people on board. That means parents sometimes get a moment to relax while the kids are fishing.

What to Bring: We always recommend layering clothing as the weather can change quickly in New England. A blanket can also be helpful for those that get cold easily. Feel free to bring snacks or some takeout as well as your preferred beverages. Check out our blog for boat snack ideas. Please avoid bringing glass on the boat. We will have a gallon of chilled water available for your convenience. We would love to provide restaurant recommendations for takeout if you have any questions. There are multiple great restaurants close to the marina or near the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock.

Pick up can be at the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock at 72 Commercial Street. We can also meet at South Port Marine at 14 Ocean St South Portland. There is free street parking in the vicinity but this can be crowded in the peak of the season.
