FULL DAY OFF SHORE FISHING

What to Expect: During this trip you will spend the day about 15-30 miles offshore. The cruise out will take about an hour and half. We will be in search of ground fish that make for good table fare such as Haddock, Cusk, Pollock, Redfish. Although not typically in season we do often catch Cod which are fun to reel in. This is a good trip for people who have fished before and enjoy the adventure. This is an eight hour trip. Although this is a longer trip it is also a great introduction to saltwater fishing. We will be leaving the docks in the early morning. Catching the sunrise as we leave the Portland Harbor is ideal. We recommend a max of 4 people. This will allow for everyone to fish comfortably. On the way out to the fishing grounds you will get views of the beautiful coastline including a few of the lighthouses in Casco Bay.

What to Bring: We always recommend layering clothing as the weather can change quickly in New England. A blanket can also be helpful for those that get cold easily. Feel free to bring snacks or some takeout as well as your preferred beverages. Check out our blog for boat snack ideas. Please avoid bringing glass on the boat. We will have a gallon of chilled water available for your convenience. We would love to provide restaurant recommendations for takeout if you have any questions. There are multiple great restaurants close to the marina or near the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock.

Pick up can be at the Portland Public Water Taxi Dock at 72 Commercial Street. We can also meet at South Port Marine at 14 Ocean St South Portland. There is free street parking in the vicinity but this can be crowded in the peak of the season.
